The original Lancia Stratos was born in 1972 (of course the final version is meant – Stratos Zero prototype was shown two years earlier) and released only 2 years – until 1974. During this time 492 “Stratos” were produced, which later made the car even more iconic, it became a true “classic.”
In 2010, the legendary sports car has been revived. At the heart of the new Lancia Stratos was platform of Ferrari 430 Scuderia. From its Italian “cousin» Stratos get the chassis, gearbox and 4.3-liter engine (which was indeed somewhat reconfigured in order to remove his 535 hp), so that the car get decent dynamics – to disperse hundreds took only 3, 3 seconds, top speed – 322 km / h.
Old Stratos had a more modest machine – 2.4 liter V6 Dino with 190 hp (Top speed about 232 km / h) in a few years it was on motorsports (including the winning rally championships in 1974, 1975 and 1976).
