The word “terrier” immediately determines the appearance of dog: small size, high set tail vigorous, robust constitution, excellent health and wonderful temperament. It was necessary for survival in the harsh climate of the Highlands of Scotland.
There are several versions of the origin of West Highland. But most likely (and agree with this, many experts who have studied the history of rock), rock was obtained by crossing Scottish terrier (or, as he was called before the Aberdeen Terrier), and Cairn terrier.
According to another theory, the West Highland and Cairn terriers in general were one breed, and the allocation of “lead” to a separate breed was the result of selection by color.
